Facia installation is crucial when installing new gutters or replacing them. The facia board provides support for your gutter system and needs to be installed correctly in order for your gutters to function properly. The facia is a vertical finishing edge connected to the area where the gutter attaches to the roof, it can be found connected to rafters or trusses as well.

The fascia’s primary role is to provide a layer between the edge of the roof and the outdoors, and it is meant to protect the wooden board from water damage. Fascia boards also help to achieve a clean finished look to the roofline. However, fascia boards can get damaged by weather, insects, or regular wear and tear, leading to the need for repairs or replacement. Our team at D & D Gutters can help you prevent water damage by installing new fascia or repairing damaged fascia. There are several ways that fascia boards can become damaged or deteriorated.

Causes for Fascia Damage

Water Damage

Water can seep into the fascia boards if they are not properly sealed or if the gutters are clogged or damaged.

Insect damage

Insects like termites, carpenter ants, and bees can cause significant damage to fascia boards.

Rot

Fascia boards are often made of wood, which can rot over time due to exposure to moisture.

Weathering

Exposure to the elements, such as wind, rain, and sun, can cause fascia boards to become brittle and break down.
